One Week to Go

Hello to the folks who are following my blog.  If you are a returning follower, or are new to reading my blogs, I hope you are in for a real treat.  This is a BIG 116 day world cruise on the Seabourn Quest.  That is 4 months!  Straight at one time.  On one ship.  The longest period of time we have spent on a ship at one time is 2-1/2 months.  I have listed the ports of call in the blog header, and have uploaded the cruise itinerary on a map.

Given our previous history of packing way too much, we have already sent three big boxes ahead to the hotel for pick-up.  We have sent all the bridge materials we will need for the cruise plus some other consumables.  Do you realize how much planning it takes to bring along enough medication and vitamins for 4 months?  And how much room all that takes up?  I am also trying to figure out how to pay the bills that are not on autopay.  For the most part, the banking/bill paying takes care of itself.

We have all our visas and shots.  The electronics are ready to go:  2 computers, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, one Nook, one printer plus all the cables and power cords, and of course, 2 big heavy duty cameras and lens.  The next item to take up a lot of space is shoes.  Guys, you can get by with one brown, one black and one pair tennis shoes.  We ladies need more--much more.  Nothing worse than clashing shoe colors.  We are determined to limit our luggage to a total of 4 suitcases, plus carry-on, plus backback, plus purse.  I am going to be ruthless this time and not take everything!!  OK, I have good intentions, but we will never learn to pack lean.
